In December, my mom's brother came with some friends from Delhi, Poona and Bombay. They all stayed in our family house which is in Nerul. (The house is my grandfather's father's house. So we share it between my grandfather's brothers and their families.)
They came on December 26, which was after Christmas.
So I met a friend over there, named Mary. She's originally from the USA, but she's an exchange student so she lives in Pune. She really likes to read, and she read to me some parts of her book which was interesting.
There was another girl called Kensey, who is from Bhutan, and she loves sports. She taught me how to make Bhutanese curry.
I went there on Dec 28 night, and stayed at the Nerul house.
On Dec 30, we went to Britto's for lunch, and to Baga beach for water sports. On Dec 31, we went for a walk on the Candolim-Baga road, and then to the beach. That night, we went to the Candolim beach for dinner, because it was going to be new year. When it was New Year, people were burning the old men, and firecrackers were being lit one after the other. There were a few lanterns which were being let up in the air, and it was a very beautiful sight.
It was an awesome feeling, because I just love celebrating New Year.
On the evening of Jan 1, I went to the Candolim beach. So far my New Year has been awesome. This year, I'm going to be 13, so I'm really excited.
On January 2, when we came back to school, my geography teacher Sister Cynthia asked us what our New Year's resolutions were. Not everyone in my class had made one, so she gave us two minutes to think about it. Students gave all types of New Year's resolutions. My New Year's resolution is to be nice to everyone, to be a better person in life, and to be more understanding.
And, at the end of this year, everyone in my class says that the world is going to end, but I don't believe that.
